In 2019, I celebrated the Twentieth anniversary of the opening of my firm, and my 32nd year of practicing law. In 1987, I was admitted to practice in the courts of Pennsylvania and in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Central to my law practice are the small businesses and the people of our expanded community. I perform traditional legal services for a variety of business, real estate owners (large and small) and for some outstanding professionals, including doctors, architects, accountants, psychologists, and other lawyers, and firms. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to represent some of the finest large and/or publicly owned companies in the region on a regular basis. They include Strawbridge & Clothier, Western Union, Acts Retirement-Life Communities, Amerisource, American Express Travel, PMA Insurance Co., and Jefferson Bank. The experience of handling cases and projects for these types of clients and others helped me to develop unique skills, strategies, and judgment. No business, however, is too small; many of my clients are owned and operated by just an individual or by a few people. Frequently, I am hired by law firms in other states to be their clients’ local counsel here in Pennsylvania. Many of my clients come to me from referrals by other lawyers, accountants, and, of course, my existing clients, whose referrals I am most grateful for.
I am fortunate to have a family and a life outside of my work, including my hobbies of which I am passionate about, fly fishing and playing tennis. I’ve been a member and participated in governance of several organizations. I currently serve on the Board of Directors of the Jenkintown Rotary Club. Among my favorite organizations and/or charities are Logan Tennis Club, The Main Line Fly Tyers, The Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts, Tulane University, and Project Healing Waters.
I am a third generation practitioner in the Philadelphia area. My family has been practicing law here for almost 100 years. My father, Barry Sklar, Esq. was an accomplished lawyer and my most significant mentor.
