- In the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, I represented American Express Travel Related Services. A shipment of money orders was stolen from a train. They were ultimately cashed and sold to a third party. The case involved an interpretation of the Uniform Commercial Code. This case was an exciting academic challenge from trial court through the appellate process.
- I handled the legal work on an eighteen month project for a large, publicly held company that was redesigning its operation from point of sale to accounting. This was a fascinating experience, working with seven other divisions in a large corporate operation.
- Negotiated and completed a commercial lease of almost 35,000 square feet for the Tenant, a retail store.
- In Montgomery County Orphans’ Court, represented the executor and successfully settled and administered an estate where extremely aggressive beneficiaries sued each other, filed surcharge claims, litigated ownership of personal property, and much more for a period in excess of Ten years.
- Successfully defended a significant mechanics’ lien claim by a subcontractor against the owner, who had paid the defunct general contractor.
- Successfully closed real estate acquisition and development of a surgical center for physician groups. Ten years later, successfully completed the sale of the center.
- In Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas, recovered significant monies against an ex-husband who essentially failed to disclose the amounts due to his ex-wife under their prior divorce agreement.
- Successfully negotiated an Agreement with the Department of Labor on behalf of a Construction company who was alleged to have not paid his employees proper wages and overtime.
- In the Bucks County Register of Wills, successfully represented a granddaughter and removed a man as Executor who tried to cheat his niece out of one-half of her grandfather’s Estate.
- In the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, obtained a successful settlement on behalf of national financial institution against a fiduciary for breach of fiduciary duty, conversion of trust funds, and similar claims in an aggressively defended case.
- Completed the acquisition of a building which leases to a Taco Bell in Western Pennsylvania.
- Negotiated merger of local company with a large, regional company in the automotive industry.
- Served as national attorney leader for collection of debts owed to a long distance telephone service provider.
- Completed acquisition of a large full line vending operation.
- Represented a bank against a large law firm which was dissolving and settled the hotly contested law suits with a series of loans.
- Successfully entered into an agreement and closed the purchase of an industrial building from bankruptcy court at auction.
- In Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas and Pennsylvania Superior Court, successfully defended a real estate developer who was accused of fraud and breach of contract.
- At arbitration, I recovered hundreds of thousands of dollars for a client whose money was lost by a stock broker who engaged in churning, breach of fiduciary duty and similar unscrupulous acts.
- Successfully settled a Wage Payment and Age Discrimination claim.
- Served as local counsel for the purchase of a large shopping center in Montgomery County for a state pension plan.
- Successfully prosecuted a claim by a subcontractor against the surety company on a performance bond.
- In Delaware County, successfully obtained injunctive relief and later a favorable settlement on behalf an international distributor of money orders against a contractually licensed operator.
- I drafted loan documents for a large, national distributor of drugs and inventory in connection with sales to a chain of drug stores.
